Art and Event Series: Trade School

On April 24 The New School student organization Bricollab invites Caroline Woolard, Christhian Diaz, and Aimee Lutkin to discuss the goals, principles, and collaborative synergy that helped create Trade School, an alternative learning space run on a barter system. At Trade School, student’s register for classes by agreeing to bring barter items their teacher requests.

The three artists explain how grassroots arts leadership is a powerful means of developing influential, creative ideas. The discussion focuses on questions about barter economy, art entrepreneurship, collaborative participation, the nature of the artists’ projects, and the needs and resources Trade School fills in the New York City artscape. The discusssion will include a Q&A session.
