The Citizens Committee for New York City and the Office of the Mayor are providing grants to resident-led volunteer groups working to improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods. These Love Your Block Program grants range from $500 to $1,000.

Grants can be applied toward various neighborhood renovations, such as cleaning vacant lots, planting trees in empty tree beds, conducting traffic safety surveys and removing graffiti. Grant recipients also receive support from city agencies including the Department of Transportation, Sanitation, and Parks & Recreation to aid in the block transformation, as well as assistance from the Citizens Committee for New York City with project-planning and local media coverage for the block transformation event.

To learn more about the program, attend the upcoming grant application workshop, which will be held on Tuesday, September 20 from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM. The workshop will be held at 32 Old Slip, 33rd Floor, in lower Manhattan.
