Lace up your combat boots and charge your mohawk — Make Music New York’s Punk Island returns!
Punk Island is one of MMNY’s signature events, “a one-day experiment that turns Governors Island into a punk rockers’ paradise” (NY Times). Starting at 10am on Sunday, June 19th, free ferries will depart every half hour for Governors Island, where you’ll hear more than 50 bands from every corner of the punk scene performing all day on eight stages, all curated by ABC No Rio’s punk/hardcore collective.
Since the Island is closed to the public on June 21st, the day of Make Music New York, Punk Island will take place two days before. Just like the rest of MMNY, all performances are outdoors and completely free.
