Literary Upstart: The Final Round
Galapagos Art Space (16 Main St., Brooklyn)
7pm doors

This Thursday, join us for the final round of Literary Upstart, The L’s short fiction competition and reading series (brought to you by Harper and the New School) at Galapagos Art Space in beautiful DUMBO, Brooklyn. Doors are at 7 pm and there will be discounted alcoholic drinks, fun times, and of course, the best of the best of our fiction writing contest.

Five of the city’s best unknown writers (three are winners of our past rounds and two are “wildcards”) will read short, previously unpublished fiction, vying for the ultimate approval of our panel of judges: Distinguished Spokesjudge Ben Greenman, Electric Literature cofounder Andy Hunter, literary agent Katherine Fausset, the New School’s Luis Jaramillo, HarperCollins and Fifty-Two Stories’ Cal Morgan, and the L’s Adam Bonislawski.

So to review:

And for you—for everyone, really, for humanity—there’ll be the most inexpensive beers you can think of. Yes, draft drink specials, starting at 7pm and continuing through 8pm. So we’ll expect to see you there, supporting new writing and beer, without which there would be no new writing.
