A Six-Word Memoir Story Slam about mothers and daughters, fathers and sons
“Hoarding cash for kids’ future psychotherapy.”
“That’s it Mom, you are grounded!”
“Dad wore leather pants in Reno.”
“Had kitties, not kiddies. God misunderstood.”
“Mommy’s boobies no longer Daddy’s boobies.”
“Suffered miscarriage. Daughter offered her doll.”
“Ask my teenager, she knows everything.”
Whether you are a mother or father, daughter or son, everyone has a parent story to tell. On May 18, right between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, we hope you’ll join us for a night of six-word sagas about parenting, your relationship with a parent or that miraculous, messy thing we all go through called growing up.
SMITH Magazine, home of the wildly popular Six-Word Memoir project, presents an exciting lineup of writers and performers who will offer their own six words and backstories on the loving, hating and never-dull moments with those they call family. At the end of the night, we invite you to share your own six words on mothers and fathers in an audience participation Six-World Slam.
