Public Media and the Fashioning of Reality
Tishman Auditorium at The New School (66 W. 12th St., Manhattan)

From “The Fashion Show on television”, “The Sartorialist” website, and the film Bill Cunningham New York to Fruits magazine in Japan, fashion is an increasingly large part of our reality.

Looking at different forms of public and social media, a panel discussion featuring Tim Gunn and “The Sartorialist” Scott Schuman will discuss the cultural significance and meanings of this contemporary construction of fashion. Moderated by Hazel Clark, Ph.D., and Dean of the School of Art and Design History and Theory; with an introduction by Heike Jenss, Director of the MA Fashion Studies program.
