Meeting point: SE Corner of 42nd and Park Ave. (street level, outside of Chase Bank and across the street from the entrance to Grand Central)
Time: Noon on Saturday, January 8th
This Saturday at noon I’ll be leading a trip from Grand Central Station to Jackson Heights using the two greatest forms of transportation known to man: foot and tramway. This 9.5-mile walk will include Tudor City, Roosevelt Island, Dutch Kills, Little India and, of course, a ride on the Roosevelt Island tram.
Food situation: There won’t be a formal lunch stop, but you can pick up a snack on the way. The walk will end in time for an early dinner at Jackson Diner (despite its name, it’s a classic Indian restaurant).
Note: The walk is, as always, free but the tram costs $2.25. You can pay with a MetroCard.
