For centuries, women have been traveling solo. Women traveled long before airplanes, seatbelts, women-specific backpacks, or the internet. In this signature HI USA Travel Workshop, you'll learn the basics of traveling solo, along with great backpacking tips for the road. You'll walk away with the confidence and skills to get there and away, and how to adopt a basic credo of cultural respect and trusting one's instincts. Workshop leader, Telijah Patterson will share time-tested skills, safety pointers, and general travel resources on how to get the most out of your travel experience. She'll be placing particular emphasis on her time in Australia, and how she spent her time exploring both the cities and the outback. Additionally, she'll share tips, tricks, and practical advice from her own travels on what works best for solo female travelers. The workshop will be interactive, and include exercises and discussions about solo travel experiences, itinerary planning, and mapping out the basics. Plus, you'll get a list of recommended travel gear that you can get right from the REI once the workshop is complete. Get ready to travel solo!
