Join us for an evening featuring New York Times acclaimed author Emily Spivack as she takes us for a conscious tour of how clothing holds different types of value depending on the wearer. Emily will show her book trailer as well as give a beautiful, visually-guided presentation of how she got the idea to create Worn Stories. In addition to being a celebrated author, Emily is also currently a Visiting Assistant Professor in Pratt Institute’s Fashion Department. Along with Emily’s presentation and a Q&A, we ask you to bring a piece of clothing that means something to you and to tell the story behind it. We’ll be recording all stories for the BF+DA site as well as adding to Emily’s Worn Stories page. AND, to add in even more goodness, and in the true spirit of consciousness, join us for a mid-winter clothing swap by bringing 5 pieces of clothing, jewelry, shoes and bags to swap out with fellow attendees!
