Bluegrass, lasers, and the Wizard of Oz… what do they all have in common? The answer is Poor Man’s Whiskey! The hit show Darkside of the Moonshine is the latest creation from this High Octane Hootenanny. Imagine a canopy of lasers suspended over a band dressed as the characters from the Wizard of OZ, playing a rocking acoustic/bluegrass rendition of Dark Side of the Moon. It is a true spectacle that will delight your senses.

PMW has completely reworked the original Floyd album to fit their eclectic acoustic rock tendencies. The album’s center piece, ‘Money’ has been transformed into ‘Whiskey’, complete with a hilarious twist on the iconic ‘cash register’ sound clip that PMW performs live. The ghostly sounds of the Theremin can be heard throughout the album, but it takes center stage for the instrumental track, ‘On the Run’. The music pulses with the hypnotic rolling of the banjo, but swells to acoustic and electric crescendos of the fiddle and lap steel guitar. While the arrangements of the
songs on the album may stray into unfamiliar territory from the original Pink Floyd recording, the heart-beat of the music really captures the essence of Poor Man’s Whiskey.
