Join us for a musical celebration of the historically rich sounds of jazz, influenced and inspired by one of New York City’s most eclectic and diverse neighborhoods. The Juilliard Jazz Ensembles present an exciting program featuring the music of Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Edgar Sampson, and more, with all-time favorites like “Harlem Airshaft,” “Stompin’ at the Savoy,” “Harlem Nocturne,” and “Take the A Train.” Founded in 2001, Juilliard Jazz enters its 13th season led by newly-appointed director and Juilliard alumnus Wynton Marsalis. The program offers degrees at the bachelor, master, and artist diploma levels, combining tailored studio time and coursework with professional performance opportunities designed to successfully integrate students into a thriving jazz environment. Juilliard Jazz’s faculty and students also conduct national and international master classes and clinics.More info See more free New York City events & things to do on Nifty NYC.
