Through Friday, October 31st: See Classic Horror Films on the Big Screen at Museum of the Moving Image

    Date: 10/24/2014 - 10/31/2014

    Time: All Day

Location: Museum of the Moving Image (36-01 35th Ave., Queens)

Horror is the most primal of all movie genres, the one that most viscerally employs the darkness of the movie theater, the spectacle of shocking sights and sounds, and the collective shrieks and screams of the audience. From Nosferatu (1922) to Poltergeist (1982), this is a Halloween selection of six timeless horror films. The series opens with The Exorcist, a tribute to makeup artist Dick Smith, who revolutionized horror-movie makeup and inspired generations of makeup artists.
