Born in Glasgow in 1961, Burns graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1983 with a degree in Fine Art. Since 1999 this commitment has resulted in his current standing as one of Scotland’s most respected artists. The exhibition builds on the success of ‘14 for 14’ which was held in New York last year. The sitters for the exhibition are: Actor Alan Cumming Actor and comedian Billy Connolly Actor Brian Cox Composer (Moulin Rouge) Craig Armstrong Top Scot’s author Denise Mina Scottish actress and comedian Elaine C Smith Actor Ewan McGregor Scottish actress Laura Fraser Journalist, broadcaster and writer Kirsty Wark Textile and clothes designer Iona Crawford Aberdeen Asset Management CEO Martin Gilbert New York based Scottish financier Donna Nairi New York based Scottish business woman Lynda Logan Founder of the Norwood Club in NY Alan Linn Queens Counsel, Barrister and Human Rights Campaigner Helena Kennedy QC
