Sewing Seeds is excited to announce the launch of Growing Color, a natural dye plant ID initiative funded by New York Restoration Project (NYRP). You may not know it yet, but many of New York's flourishing community gardens are filled with plants that can be used to create vibrant, natural dyes. On Sunday, November 23rd, you will get the chance to see and identify a number of natural dye plants that grow right in your neighborhood! We will begin identifying at Gil Hodges Community Garden before serving up a hot cup of apple cider and taking a walk to Prospect Park. We will be seeing and learning about natural dye plants throughout our stroll, exhibiting new ID tags to share with the rest of the community.
