A series presented by Pioneer Works the second Sunday of the month that features live music, exhibitions, food, and open studios by: Clocktower Radio, Clara Claus, Shandoah Goldman, Hyon Gyon, Robyn Hasty, Tommy Martinez, Nanotronics Imaging, Joséphine Kaeppelin, Christopher Kardambikis, and Jessica Vaughn. Interventions (4:00 – 8:00 pm) by #TRASHDAY LIVESTREAM, CITIES ARE NATURAL, and TRANSMISSIONS Performance (5:30 + 7:30 pm) by FERRUM, a large-scale site-specific performance drawing on the iron factory historical components of the Pioneer Works coupled with thematic content of public and private space. Live music by PITCHBLAK BRASS BAND (6:30 pm), a Brooklyn-based 10-piece band that takes its cues from thirty years of Hip Hop history. Live music by XENIA RUBINOS (8:00 pm), using her powerful voice to create beats and melodies from scratch, Xenia’s sound grows from a wide range of influences from Caribbean rhythms and beat music to minimalism and indie rock all delivered with a soulful punk aura. Stream the event live on Clocktower Radio at clocktower.org/listen. On View: Biomorphic Wall is the most recent of Chico MacMurtrie’s / Amorphic Robot Works’ site-specific Inflatable Architectures. This large-scale robotic installation is composed of 32 high tensile fabric tubes, which are controlled by a closed loop pneumatic system and suspended from the ceiling above the audience. The installation is translating MacMurtrie’s ongoing research to develop a body of work exploring the forms, movements, and interactions that define our human experience.
