The Lowline Lab is a long-term experiment and technical exhibit designed to test years of research into growing and maintaining plant life underground. Built inside an abandoned market on the Lower East Side, just two blocks from the site of the proposed future Lowline, the Lowline Lab includes a series of controlled experiments in an environment mimicking the actual Lowline site. Each experiment relies on our solar technology collection and distribution system to remotely direct natural sunlight from the building’s rooftop to plant life below.

By visiting the Lowline Lab, you’ll get the opportunity to see this technology up-close, interact with the experiments and get a better understanding of our vision for the Lowline and its game-changing potential for the future of public spaces.
