Fifth Avenue, 68th Street to 86th Street Grand Stand at 79th Street The German-American Steuben Parade is one of the most colorful and fun parades in New York City - marching up Fifth Avenue from 68th to 86th Street, it brings out music and dance groups, marching bands, karneval groups and people in "Tracht", the traditional clothing worn in many different German regions. The 57th Annual Steuben Parade will be led by Grand Marshal John Muller, Emmy Award-winning American Journalist, born in Queens and raised in Long Island A highlight of the Steuben Parade are the many themed floats and the dances performed by many of the marching groups from all over Germany and the United States. The Steuben Parade is FREE to watch, and no tickets are necessary. However, there is a Grand Stand on Fifth Avenue and 79th Street; Tickets are $15 and include prime seating in view of the red carpet, where the dance performances are. You must enter from 78th St. between Madison Avenue to 5th Ave. This event will be on rain or shine.
