This May, one will only need to be in Brooklyn to celebrate Bayou-born sounds often sought with much joie de vivre. Here, there is a chance to learn a new song; refine a dance step or fiddle tune; hear award winning bands play; play at a Community Jam session; or enjoy a Cajun-made authentic Jambalaya. Jalopy Tavern nurant – three day event- some attendees might get concerned about the isolated locale – thinking they’d need to know about meal options – tell them all they need including food is right there!
2013 Bayou n’ Brooklyn Music Festival will welcome cultural ambassadors Christine Balfa, Cajun music’s most talented and revered vocalists and guitar players: Ed Poullard, accordion builder and Creole fiddler who still carries the tradition of the late Canray Fontenot, and Bebe Carriere; and Megan Brown, singer from Tepetate, LA.
