Piano in Bryant Park, the popular lunchtime series featuring talented interpreters of various piano genres, returns for its 13th season on Monday, May 2. The performances, which continue each weekday through September 30, are on the Upper Terrace and run from 12:30pm-2:30pm. The series is co-sponsored by Jazz Center of New York and Music Performance Trust Fund, and produced in partnership with Local 802 of the American Federation of Musicians and our friends at Sam Ash Music. We’ve developed an incredible lineup over the years, and most of your favorites are back. This year’s performers include Eubie Blake’s protégé Terry Waldo, Roy Eaton, who played at Carnegie Hall in 1937, winner of the Great American Jazz Piano Competition Deanna Witkowski, Daryl Sherman, named Best Jazz Vocalist by Hot House Magazine in 2015, Kenny Barron-trained Columbia University instructor Victor Lin, Ayako Shirasaki, a virtuoso performer who will introduce the first-ever “Tap-A-Long,” and Todd Robbins, performing his signature ragtime and classic Tin Pan Alley.
