Tantra is a 5,000-year-old philosophy of health, wellness and empowerment taking root in the modern world. According to Tantric philosophy, we all have masculine and feminine within us, and it is the interplay of these energies which creates our life forces: energy, art, identity and vitality. Though in the West it is often associated solely with sexual practices, Tantra gave birth to all of yoga, the understanding of the Chakras and Pranic Healing. Whether you are an around-the-clock entrepreneur, serial creatrix, 9-to-5er or nomad, using Tantra in your everyday life will give you the necessary awareness to feel empowered, energized and turned on. Presented in partnership with Evolver Social Movement, the evening will begin with a tasting of elixirs made with whole plant aphrodisiacs. Herbalist and health guide Rachelle Robinett will walk us through the ways these aphrodisiacs can be used in tonics, teas and other homemade goodies to get the blood moving in the ways it should. Grammy-nominated sarodist and guitarist Camila Celin will play classical tempos, and Meg Berry will lead us into a moving meditation of the senses starting with OYoga (created by the late Psalm Isadora) and the Bliss Breath.
