The mention of alchemy pricks the ears of all people, from the seasoned occultist to even the most disinterested cynic. Still many of us across that spectrum actually have little to no idea of the finer points of alchemy: its history, its main players, its contributions to modern sciences or the processes and techniques that are practiced in an alchemical laboratory. In these two classes, the occultist and cynic alike may find wisdom of this mostly forgotten art. In this follow-up class to "Intro to Alchemy", Practical Herbal Alchemy will cover some of the applications of the techniques and philosophy of alchemy as it pertains to herbalism and craft, with a focus on spagyrics (specifically alchemical tinctures) and even perfumery. During the class, a spagyric tincture crafted specifically to the day of lecture will be demonstrated from beginning to end and completed with the attendees present. Since in alchemy the practitioner is an essential ingredient in the work, the attendees will be an essential component in this tincture's creation, and will be offered the opportunity to purchase a vial of it at the class's conclusion.
