What are authentic, achievable strategies for cities? It is predicted that by the end of this century, 75% of the world’s population will be living in cities. Art, culture, urban design, and capital have a tremendous collective impact on the making of liveable cities. This panel discussion will focus on how these diverse perspectives come together to define success for projects of different scales. Some of the questions that will be addressed are: What has changed about how people think about culture, art, and public space in cities? What does it mean to plan for culture and what are the tools? How can urban design play a more definitive role in cultural urban projects? What are the responsibilities of public and private leadership? How does time affect the success of communities and institutions? Please join the AIANY Cultural Facilities Committee for an evening of wide-ranging discussion. We encourage you to bring questions to the event— we will engage the audience in this discussion.See more cheap New York City events & things to do on Nifty NYC.
