Free beer for the first 100 attendees! Featuring a screening of a 1987 shot-on-video slasher, plus VHS tapes available for sale and trade! Limited Capacity, RSVP to hold your spot! VIDEO VIOLENCE The majesty of this movie can be summed up by the tagline from the cover of the original VHS release: “Could this happen at YOUR video store?” Shot guerilla-style in New Jersey by video store owner Gary Cohen, VIDEO VIOLENCE is a seminal shot-on-video (SOV) gore-blast from the 1980s home video revolution. A couple move to New York and open a video store. But lookout! A rental tape has been swapped out for an honest-ta-gahd snuff film!! As a cult of snuff devotees unveil their plans to take over the town, we’re treated to a maniacal onslaught of cheapo gore effects, hypnotizing synths, and unbelievable snapshots of real people playing themselves. Remember: In a town of three-hundred people, “They all have VCRs!”
