Hey! Happy New Year!
Nearly five years ago, I was desperately homesick for NYC. At that time, blogging was an easy way to share information about awesome affordable events with friends, lessening the pain of not being able to attend them myself. Much to my surprise, soon after Nifty NYC launched, word got around and thousands of other New Yorkers I had never met started following the site. Thanks to you guys, this fun, tiny passion project morphed into a platform backed by a kickass community.
After my sabbatical ends next week, I will officially leave the world of nonprofit event planning and development to focus on building Nifty NYC and my life coaching practice. Working for myself full-time is something I’ve dreamed of since I was a kid, and I’m excited to make this leap and to be able to build this site into an even more useful resource for you.
Thank you so much for sharing tips and telling your friends about us over the years. While listing unique affordable events and other experiences will always be at the heart of Nifty NYC, the site will be expanded to enable us to connect intimately with the Nifty community and serve New Yorkers in a bigger way. And I can’t do it without your help.
I need your feedback to help make Nifty NYC better! Please e-mail me at hello [at] niftynyc [dot] com or tweet @niftynyc with your responses to the questions below or anything else you’d like to share.
– There are lots of sites with cheap things to do in NYC. Why do you choose to read Nifty NYC? What makes us different?
– What annoys you about the site? What could we do differently?
– What challenges do you face when trying to take advantage of experiences that NYC has to offer?
You’re also welcome to submit upcoming events for free here.
Thanks again for your support. Hope 2016 is off to a fantastic start for you, and I look forward to speaking with you soon!
Peace, love and confetti,
Founder, Nifty NYC
