Be among the first to discover future Chenoweths, McDonalds and Sondheims. FutureFest spotlights rising young talent in a celebration of the next generation of musical theater artists. Hear high school and college students sing songs from new musicals written by leading and rising lyricists and composers. Past fests have included songs penned by the likes of Stephen Schwartz (Pippin, Wicked) and Chad Beguelin (Elf the Musical). The event — presented by the Festival of New American Musicals and Open Hydrant Theater Company — features students from a variety of local high schools and colleges such as NYU, Fordham, Columbia, Bronx School of the Arts and LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts.
