For 35 years, Grammy-winning saxophonist Paul Winter has been bringing together a bevy of talented multicultural artists in the breathtaking setting of New York’s Cathedral of St. John the Divine to recreate an ancient winter-solstice celebration for the modern age. Legendary Puerto Rican singer Danny Rivera, the Forces of Nature Dance Theatre, gospel singer Theresa Thomason and the ten-member jazz-world music ensemble the Paul Winter Consort are set to perform in the 2014 edition, filled with festive music and dance. The New York Times calls this spectacular salute to the longest night of the year, “An immersive, multimedia extravaganza, as grand and expansive as its location.”
