The Secret Theatre and director Lenny Banovez have added a contemporary steampunk twist to the Charles Dickens classic, Oliver Twist. Follow young orphan Oliver from a dreary workhouse to the streets of Victorian London, where he unwittingly falls in with a gang of pickpockets. After playing the title role in the musical as a child, Richard Mazda, artistic director of the Secret Theatre and one of the co-founders of the punk-mod band Tours, portrays the infamous Fagin. This boisterous musical steampunks Lionel Bart’s memorable songs, like “Food, Glorious Food,” “Consider Yourself,” “Where Is Love?” and “As Long as He Needs Me.”
