Violist David Aaron Carpenter takes the featured soloist spot in this festive holiday performance from New York’s exciting young Salomé Chamber Orchestra. The concert’s highlighted by the world premiere of a piece by the string ensemble’s composer-in-residence Alexey Shor, as well as Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet, arranged for viola and orchestra. Carpenter actually co-founded this conductor-less ensemble with his siblings Sean and Lauren, both violinists, in 2009. They wrapped up a successful — and sold-out — residency at the Met last season. Tickets include same-day museum admission.
