The New York Youth Symphony opens its 51st season with an operatic flair. Members of the most awarded youth program of its kind in the nation will perform a program featuring works by Wagner and Richard Strauss. Pianist Michael Brown, the Roy and Shirley Durst Debut Artist, also joins the concert with two works: a First Music commission by Katherine Blach and Mozart’s Piano Concerto in C major, K. 467. The New York Times called Brown “a young piano visionary,” praising him for his “powerful technique and a vivid imagination.”
