Harlem Speakeasy Orchestra

Born out of the monthly “speakeasies” that drummer and bandleader Graham Hawthorne would hold in his 700-square-foot Harlem townhouse when he wasn’t on tour with the likes of David Byrne, The Harlem Speakeasy Orchestra puts a fresh twist on some classic tunes. The 12-piece outfit features some of the finest musicians and vocalists in New York City. And though they play Big Band-era music — including songs made famous by Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Nat King Cole, Ray Charles, Louis Jordan and more — The Harlem Speakeasy Orchestra is far from a standard oldies band.
