Documentary subject Etgar Keret will be on hand for a Q&A and more after the U.S. premiere of filmmaker Gur Bentwich’s entertaining and intimate film about the acclaimed Israeli author, What Animal Are You? Bentwich tagged along with his longtime friend on a quick book tour to New York, where Keret reflects on his life and the death of his father, and hangs with This American Life‘s Ira Glass, who’s featured many of Keret’s witty short works on his show. This Symphony Space event also includes a screening of a short film based on one of Keret’s stories and an interview of Keret by actor Josh Charles (The Good Wife), along with the premiere of a brand new fiction piece, read by an actor. A successful graphic novelist and screenwriter, Keret’s novella Kneller’s Happy Campers was made into the Sundance fave Wristcutters: A Love Story.
