In celebration of the bicentennial of Giuseppe Verdi’s birth, WQXR’s Operavore and Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts present a special preview of the Caramoor Summer Music Festival’s annual Bel Canto at Caramoor.
Join Caramoor’s Director of Opera, Will Crutchfield, along with soprano Angela Meade, tenor Noah Baetge, and baritone Marco Nisticò for a sneak peek at “Verdi in Paris,” the theme of this year’s Bel Canto at Caramoor.
The program will include rarely-heard songs as well as duets and arias from Les vêpres siciliennes in their original French, highlighting the influence of the time Verdi spent in Paris on his music. The composer’s long association with the city yielded some of his most significant contributions to opera. Hosted by WQXR’s Naomi Lewin.
