The Harlem Resonance Spring Festival returns to Symphony Space for the third year, spotlighting the rich cultural history of the area with a Sunday film series of documentaries, classic films and more. Catch great movies like 1939’s Stormy Weather with Lena Horne, the 1939 musical melodrama Moon Over Harlem, and Oscar Micheaux’s Swing! and silent Body and Soul starring Paul Robeson. Authors like Langston Hughes, Richard Wright, Zora Neale Huston, W.E.B. Dubois and more are celebrated through a variety of documentaries, and an archival song or dance clip from the Harlem Renaissance kicks off each screening in the series as well.
