The National Book Foundation and Pratt Institute will present the screening of three films that were adapted from the nominated National Book Award books “Lolita,” “The Cool World,” and “The Invention of Hugo Cabret.” Following each screening there will be a panel discussion focusing on “faithfulness” in book-to-film adaptation that will include scholars, writers, filmmakers, critics, and actors; such as, author of “The Invention of Hugo Cabret” Brian Selznick and film critic Amy Taubin.
