This Sunday, Lauryn Chun of Mother-in-Law’s Kimchi and author of The Kimchi Cookbook will be leading a Kimjang, a Korean tradition of preparing jars of kimchi for fermentation over the winter months, where she’ll teach you how to make Poggi kimchi with brined cabbage halves and a chile paste filling. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and are $10 for general admission which includes all ingredients, or $35 for general admission with ingredients plus a signed copy of The Kimchi Cookbook. Don’t forget to bring your own quart-sized wide-mouth glass jar to take home your kimchi!

Also at the Market on Sunday, Liz Gutman and Jen King of Liddabit Sweets will be signing copies of their brand new book, The Liddabit Sweets Candy Cookbook, from 12:00PM to 3:00PM. Special Hanukkah fare will be available, including a variety of smoked fish from Acme Smoked Fish, latkes from Great Performances, and kosher organic Medjool dates and walnuts from Palmero Dates & Nuts. Special guest vendor Toby’s Estate Coffee will have espresso and hot chocolate for sipping while shopping, and bags of coffee freshly roasted in Brooklyn that are perfect for gifting. And anyone who pre-ordered from Cee Bee’s Citrus through Plovgh.com can pick up their share from the Market this week.
