One of the best-known and most frequently performed choral works in Western music, George Frideric Handel’s Messiah has been performed thousands of times since its debut in 1742. Now, Distinguished Concerts International New York Artistic Director Jonathan Griffith turns the work on its ear with Messiah … Refreshed!, which uses Thomas Beecham and Eugene Goossens’ 1959 re-orchestration of the work for a full symphony orchestra as its base. Featuring the full orchestra and concert singers, this performance promises to be a stirring reinterpretation of a powerful piece of classical music.
