Saturday, November 17th: Sandy Benefit Activist Film Screening: ‘Who Bombed Judi Bari?’

Who Bombed Judi Bari?
The Quad Cinema (34 W. 13th St., Manhattan)
8pm
$10

A documentary premiering NYC this week will benefit a bastion of activism damaged by Hurricane Sandy — The Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space.

The $10 donation will assist the museum, which had its hopes for a grand opening dashed when its displays were immersed in the waters of the East and Hudson Rivers on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The 93-minute, award-winning documentary is engaged in a week-long run at the Quad this
November 16 through 22.

All proceeds from the 8pm screening go to the Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space. The museum’s basement exhibition space flooded to the ceiling during Hurricane Sandy, but members of the collective managed to use one of the museum’s exhibits — an energy bike also used by Occupy Wall Street — to share power for cell phones with the community in the long, dark days that followed.
