“Where have all the Delis gone?” Feeding off the theme of the Library’s great exhibition, Lunch Hour NYC, the Dorot Jewish Division is presenting an amazing panel discussion on the history, present state, and significance of the deli (chiefly but not exclusively NYC). The panelists are: Noah Bernamoff, founder of Mile End Delicatessen (Brooklyn and Manhattan); Joan Nathan, author of Jewish Cooking in America (among many other books); and David Sax, author of Save the Deli: In Search of Perfect Pastrami, Crusty Rye, and the Heart of Jewish Delicatessen. The Panel is moderated by Mitchell Davis, Executive Vice President, James Beard Foundation. Free and open to the public, but space is limited! Reservations are required. So reserve a booth or at least a seat at the counter with annmariestarita@nypl.org
