For nearly a century and a half the Chinese and Italian communities have co-existed and overlapped within the historic boundaries of Mott and Mulberry Streets, and the intersecting cross streets. To illuminate the common heritage and shared future of two of New York City’s most iconic immigrant communities, Two Bridges Neighborhood Council and MOCA present the inaugural Marco Polo Festival History Colloquium. This dialogue between distinguished scholars Jerome Krase (Brooklyn College) and John Kuo Wei Tchen (New York University) explores topics concerning the area’s rich Chinese & Italian immigrant history, culture, and future.
