Liddabit Sweets & Blue Bottle Coffee
Greenlight Bookstore (686 Fulton St., Brooklyn)

Greenlight is delighted to partner with the Greene Grape on a delicious evening with books authored by two of Greene Grape’s best food creators! Blue Bottle can be called the nation’s leading artisanal roaster, and their coffee is served at the Greene Grape Annex, as well as in fine restaurants on both coasts. The Blue Bottle Craft of Coffee includes founder James Freeman’s guide to roasting, brewing, and making espresso-based drinks like a pro, plus Blue Bottle pastry chef Caitlin Freeman’s recipes for coffee-inspired treats! The authors of The Liddabit Sweets Candy Cookbook, Liz Gutman and Jen King, are classically trained pastry chefs who traded in their toques to make candy and now lead the candy-craft movement as proprietors of Brooklyn confectionery Liddabit Sweets, which also sells their wares through Greene Grape Provisions. The book is the perfect marriage of sugar and spice, with approachable recipes, offbeat humor, and step-by-step photographs to remind us that home candymaking is meant to be fun. Liz, Jen, James and Caitlin will talk with Greene Grape founder and owner Amy Bennett about the delights of artisanal food making. And come early at 6:30 to the Greene Grape Annex next door to Greenlight, for a pour-over demonstration and coffee cupping from Blue Bottle, and chocolate caramel samples from Liddabit!
