Museum of the City of New York (1220 Fifth Ave., Manhattan)
$12, registration recommended: 917.492.3395

It’s been almost one year since Occupy Wall Street grabbed the attention of the nation by encamping in Lower Manhattan and attempting to change America’s political and economic discourse. Join us for a panel discussion, moderated by David M. Scobey, Executive Dean of the New School for Public Engagement, with Pamela Brown, OWS activist with Strike Debt Assembly; distinguished journalist and sociologist Todd Gitlin, author of Occupy Nation (It Books/Harper Collins, 2012) and former president of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS); Yates McKee, OWS activist, art critic, and co-editor of Tidal magazine; Amy Roberts of the Occupy Wall Street Archival Project; and writer Nathan Schneider (New York Times, Harper’s), to assess the vitality of OWS, its shifting strategies and locations, and its new focus on debt and housing.

Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Activist New York.
