Saturday, August 18th: Handcrafted Knives at Smorgasburg

Handcrafted Knives
Smorgasburg (East River Waterfront between N. 6th & N. 7th)

sparks + hammers + clay + blades + beer + sushi + 20% off knives

Mark your calendar to come to the waterfront at Smorgasburg on 8/18 to watch how handcrafted knives are made! Three master knife craftsmen from Kikuichi Knives in Sakai City, Japan, will forge, hammer, temper and engrave knives right at Smorgasburg.

Generations of knife making traditions have been passed down to these skilled craftsmen, and this particular style of artisan forging dates back to the crafting of Samurai swords in Japan over 1,000 years ago. We visited Kikuichi’s workshops in 2010 and are stoked to finally be able to bring this to you.

All Kikuichi brand knives will be 20% off at our booth, and free engraving will be happening on the spot for all Kikuichis (bought that day or brought in.)
