Teen Masters Bowling
Vanderbilt Hall, Grand Central Terminal, Manhattan
Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall will be transformed into a bowling alley on August 7th and 8th for the 15th annual national Teen Masters’ bowling championship that will offer more than $100,000 total in college scholarships with a grand prize of $64,000 going to the big winner.
This is the second year that Grand Central, one of New York’s most iconic buildings, plays host to the Grand Championship, which provides the world’s stage for the teenage competitors. New Yorkers, commuters, tourists and passers-by will get a chance to sit in the stands under the art deco chandeliers and watch one high school student win enough money to pay for college. The eight competitors come from high schools around the country, including New York, South Dakota and California. Since Teen Masters began in 1997, the competition has awarded more than $1.2 million in scholarships to high school students around the country.
