Join curator and writer Raul Zamudio as he gives a selected presentation of his 80+ worldwide curatorial projects. No stranger to controversy, a couple of his shows–for their evocative and provocative nature–have been vandalized in South Korea and shut down in Shanghai. Zamudio has curated shows for several biennials and organized exhibitions in galleries, museums, academic institutions and art fairs. He will not only talk about these exhibitions but also how he has tried to tweak the traditional curatorial model of exhibition practice, what strikes him when selecting artists and inspirations for exhibition concepts. Finally, he will announce an exhibition that will take place at 3rd Ward!
Audience members will be asked to submit artworks these can include performance, painting, works on paper, photography, sculpture, installation, video and sound. This promises to be a first at 3rd Ward, a lecture culminating in a group show at 3rd Ward, curated by one of the most interesting players in the international contemporary art scene.
