People’s Pops
The Brooklyn Kitchen (100 Frost St., Brooklyn)
$20 in advance, includes book

If you’ve ever tasted popsicles from People’s Pops at pop-up shops in the Village and at the Brooklyn Flea, you’ve probably wondered how those folks create such simple goodness from water, sugar and seasonal produce. Brooklyn locals Nathalie Jordi, David Carrell and Joel Horowitz — the trio behind People’s Pops — are now sharing their DIY ethos in a cookbook featuring their favorite recipes, like raspberry & basil, alongside brand-new creations. They will demonstrate their simple technique and talk about how to pair ingredients, balance sweetness, and explore all types of produce — both fruits and vegetables. You’ll get to try all kinds of pops and you’ll also get a copy of their new book, “People’s Pops: 55 Recipes for Ice Pops, Shave Ice, and Boozy Pops from Brooklyn’s Coolest Pop Shop.”
