Party Like It’s 1999: The Real World of May Edition
The Bell House (149 7th St., Brooklyn)
Fans of the 90s, have we got a very special edition of Party Like It’s 1999 for you on May 18th at 10 p.m. (always free!) in the Frontier Room at the Bell House. The mother of all reality shows, The Real World, debuted on this May weekend back in 1992. That means it’s been 20 years since you first heard: “This is the true story of seven strangers, picked to live in a loft, work together and have their lives taped. To find out what happens when people stop being polite and start getting real!”
We’ll mark the occasion by spinning the best alt rock, hard rock, pop, R&B and hip-hop you heard during the 90s, the decade The Real World ruled MTV. Come on down dressed as Eric, Heather, Julie, Kevin, Norman, Becky or Andre and we guarantee* we’ll play your request.
*We can’t guarantee that we’ll remember what any of that cast looked like. So good luck with that.
