Join the National Park Service in observing the 190th birthday of Ulysses S. Grant on April 27. A special ceremony in honor of Grant’s birthday will take place beginning at 11 a.m. that will feature the presentation of the colors, several speakers, a wreath laying and a 21-gun salute. The speakers include a member of Grant’s family and Kenneth T. Jackson, the Jacques Barzun Professor in History and Social Sciences from Columbia University, whose speech is titled “President Grant as a New Yorker.” Please join us for this special day. Following the ceremony, visitors are invited to tour the memorial, pay their respects, and view the displays outlining Grant’s career.

PS: All US National Parks & monuments are free through this Sunday.
