Saturday, April 21st: New York Cares Day

They call New York City the concrete jungle, but as true New Yorkers know, there are plenty of beautiful parks where you can escape the daily grind and get some fresh air. Parks and gardens are an important part of urban life, and it takes a lot of work to maintain them.

So every April, 5,000 New York Cares volunteers spend a day making these spaces cleaner, greener, and ready for summer. New York Cares Day Spring is a great way for co-workers, civic groups, students, families and friends to spend time together outside while giving back.
