Knits vs. Purls
Brooklyn Brainery (515 Court St., Brooklyn)
Cowboys versus Aliens. Plants versus zombies. The People versus Larry Flynt.
Some think that you have to choose only one to be your favorite stitch, but knitted stitches and purled stitches don’t have to compete with each other. If you can master both of these stitches and learn to tell them apart, you’ll be able to whip up stunningly textured knitwear. Think ribbing for socks and sweaters and hats, charted designs, and maybe even cables (for the adventurous or advanced).
All you need to know is the basic knit stitch, and this class will give you the power to knit, purl, and more importantly, how to tell the difference.
