Filmmakers J.P. Sniadecki and Sarah J. Christman patiently explore waterways around them as a way of considering environmental change and progress. These three award winning shorts are powerful examples of poetic ethnography.

From New York’s Jamaica Bay to China’s Songhua River – a careful documentation of water sources provides us with surprising moments of intimacy and voyeuristic pleasure without relying on dialogue. While the images are hypnotizing, there exist a sense of danger and uncertainty beneath the surface.

J.P. Sniadecki and Sarah J. Christman will be in attendance to present and discuss their work.
